Use Your Money To Repurchase Time

Use Your Money To Repurchase Time: A significant change in financial thinking

To me, money always meant more pleasure and the ability to buy things. Having money meant having less stress and more possibilities.

I could spend my money on a pleasant vacation, a better automobile, or a fancier house.

These money dreams were enjoyable until I received the money.

My perspective on money shifted when I had more money than I needed.

At that moment, I realised money’s most significant benefit: buying back time.

Money, above all, can buy you time.

Consider money about time.

I just finished four months of work that I purchased with money.

Every day, I spent most of my time writing, acquiring new skills, drinking coffee, and even napping.

I’ve attended three Toastmasters meetings in the previous 48 hours (public speaking classes).

I typically go once a week, but the other day it occurred to me, “What if I could expedite my improvement in public speaking by simply taking more lessons and doing it more frequently?”

I can think weird, absurd, and often ridiculous thoughts now that I’ve taken the time to do so.

Anything is now possible. Having extra time feels so much better than buying more things.

Spend time rather than money.

Whenever I consider financial matters, the concept of time immediately comes to me.

Having time to write, read, or spend with family is more satisfying than any other purchase.

I used to believe that work was all about making money. Work is now seen as a way for me to buy time and spend it on essential activities.

This minor shift in my mindset is prompting me to earn and spend money in new ways. Let me provide an example.

A $35,000 automobile will roughly cover the cost of living for a year.

Is this a large lump of metal that I won’t appreciate, or am I buying myself a year off to write, read a few books, and spend time with my family?

This is my attitude about money.

Every material object I purchase deducts time from my available time.

Buying stuff requires me to devote my time to work rather than living life.

Using money to make more money, giving you more time

When it comes to money, there are four options available to you:

time

Earn

You can try to buy more money by working harder. In other words, you discover more methods to add value – or, to put it another way, you discover more ways to be helpful or solve issues.

Saving

However, if you also spend your money foolishly and do not invest your savings, you will be discouraged from trading your money to buy back time.

Invest

To reclaim time with money, you must alter your mindset toward both realities.

In recent years, it has been vital for me to invest in tangible assets rather than simply making money, spending less, or saving.

The most valuable asset to invest in.

This may sound clichéd, but it is true: invest in yourself.

I spent money on courses, attending events, and escaping my reality bubble in Melbourne, Australia.

(I know, that was a tongue twister.)

Summary

You have plenty of time.

You’ll have to accept it sooner or later.

As of 2022, the typical user spends 2.5 hours daily on social media.

Netflix customers watched an average of 3.2 hours of video daily in 2020, totalling 6 billion hours per month.

When we look at these figures, we can’t help but wonder, “Wow! People squander so much time, “as if we didn’t contribute to these figures.”

However, we are. You are a component of it. And I am as well.

So it is preferable to realise that we do not lack time but rather waste the majority of it.

When you realise this, you may take action, such as incorporating tiny habits into your life, and you’ll be able to significantly cut down on your work time.

That is precisely the topic of this post. If you do all these basic things, I can promise you that your life will change in unique ways.

When you consider what money truly is, you come into the debate between time and money.

An incredible transformation in your thinking will occur if you can recognise what money is and tie it to your life and your purpose here.

“How can I buy more time?” you will become fascinated with.

Every purchase you make will become an equation for time lost rather than for satisfying desires or impressing others.

Purchase time with money. Spend that time doing something that makes you happy.
